"Shelter In Place"
I just got mail and an automated phone call from SU, saying that they are investigating a crime off campus, that we should "shelter in place," not let anyone in, remain indoors, and oddly enough, not to go into Oakwood Cemetery (a graveyard adjoining campus).
To me, the phrase "shelter in place" is linked with people shooting people. I hope that's not the case here, but given the cultural atmosphere these days, I can't help but worry.
(There's likely no danger for me. I'm at my apartment, about a mile and a half north from the cemetery and campus.)
