I have, with somewhat mixed results. It seems to help sometimes to have my wrist immobilized, but sometimes being set in the same position will cause discomfort after a while too. Typically, when I remove a brace and bend my wrist after it's been on for a while, it makes that popping noise, so I think a tendon or something must be getting out of place?
