It's actually a good example of my need to feel control over my surroundings, the way I react to things like this. In a way, I'm glad I'm by myself because while I feel fairly confident about my own ability to cross this, I think I'd just about have a heart-attack watching someone *else* do it. I'm in control of me, so it feels safe. I'm *not* in control of other people, so disaster is right around the corner.
