Pretty well, altogether. I'm really fortunate in having the parents that I do. They've been supportive of me through just about everything, and support me now too. They misgender me fairly often, but they're trying.

The first time we had a video call after I came out as trans was pretty awkward. Danae thought I'd feel better if I was dressed up and had makeup on and stuff. I wasn't really comfortable with that, but I didn't really understand myself well enough to be aware of that discomfort. When my mother saw me, she immediately commented positively on various aspects of my appearance. I'm sure she wanted to be supportive, but I felt incredibly self-conscious about all of that and had to leave for a while. Danae checked in with me and explained to them that what I really wanted is for them to know I'm the same person I've always been and not treat me that differently. I think explaining that helped.
