For me a lot of it is I'm already disabled, and so I'm already not getting to live the life I want. So it's less of a stretch to be like, "I can't do these things or I'll risk getting worse." So much of my thirties were spent navigating "okay, here are the things your body cannot do, now what?" and I'm overall more freaked about adding to that list than missing out.
