(no subject)

So I'm going to Penguicon after all!

I looked online for parts for my car and I found a place in Detroit that has five or six transmissions that will fit Percy the Swift and will only set me back about $150. That works for me. It's less then a $50 premium over the Pick N Pull, and they're tested too!

So, having decided that I'm going to the sci-fi con to buy a transmission (probably one of the stranger reasons someone has decided to go to a convention), I started looking at the programming. There is a lot more that I'm interested in than I realized! From green building technology to a presenter who became an anthropologist thanks to reading sci-fi, to a bunch of polyamory stuff, one on what furry is, and one on hacking Android phones, and maybe even more. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm also looking forward to seeing people like red_ceilidh and custardfairy and maybe other people if timing works out. I note, looking at the schedule, that there may even be a certain Wisconsin raccoon there, which is kind of funny.

The hotel has 24 hour pool and hot tub access, and Danae and I will be bringing plenty of games, and Posi and I might decide to check out an abandoned building or two, and on Saturday I'll be going to a junkyard, and on the way there and back we'll have audiobooks and music, and I'll take pictures and get to enjoy my first road trip with my sweetie, and it all just sounds very exciting and busy. I like exciting and busy.

posicat and Danae are meeting up with me here after class tonight, and we're all driving to Michigan tomorrow morning.
