GRE Practice Test
I just did a full-scale online practice GRE test via Princeton Review. I wan't sure how well the math portion was going as I was proceeding, but my final score was 160. Not perfect, but a significant improvement over where I started.
Talking with Lisa yesterday, I realized yesterday that I had totally forgotten about and missed Open Doors Chicago, an architectural tour event that I've wanted to attend for years and never seem to manage to get to. That was a capstone to all the other stress and lack of time this last month, and it had me feeling kind of down last night. Scoring respectably on the GRE really helps make it seem worth it. Hopefully I can continue to improve a few points too before the real thing on the 7th.
Thanks again to
danaeris, who bought an online test preparation account for me. She's off at a conference in New York; I am missing her and thinking of her fondly. I love you Danae!
I'm spending this weekend at
lisagems' place. She's working overtime, so my plan is to sit here, away from distractions of Diablo and things at home, and just keep doing school-related things. Now that the practice test is done, I'm going to work more on papers and grad school apps. I need to think in-depth about what kind of work I want to do with potential advisors at the programs I've chosen to apply to so that those who are writing recommendation letters for me have something to work with.
But first, I think it's time for lunch. Let's see what's within walking distance here in Uptown....
