Android Games!

I just bought some Android-platform games from Humble Bundle since I have, for the first time, a mobile device worth playing games on. And Humble Bundle had a set of mediocre-looking JRPGs. But I don't think I'm going to puzzle out how to install them today. What I really want to do is get through all of Susan Fainstein's "The Just City" tonight and maybe write up my weekly class paper on it. I need to use a lot of this weekend to work on a literature review for my research design class and I want to get other stuff done beforehand.

My sleep schedule is a little whacky. I got back from the doctor and started reading, but I got tired. Rather than fight it I took a nap. I think I'll keep doing that this evening and tonight. I don't have to be anywhere until tomorrow afternoon, and maybe that will help maximize my productivity.

I'm getting a little tired of vanilla yogurt. I wish I could manage the texture of yogurt with fruit in it.

Wrist Update

Oh, I should write an update on the wrist!

The surgeon looked at my x-rays and then poked and prodded my wrist and asked me questions. He says he thinks the screw might be protruding a bit into joint space. If so, it could be damaging cartilage, and potentially causing arthritis. It's hard to tell from the x-rays, so I'm getting a CT scan next, once that gets scheduled. I'll keep you updated!

He did say that the scaphoid break looks nicely healed, and the position of the bones is good, which I found promising. I'm not quite clear on whether the (potentially) protruding screw could cause the kinds of symptoms I have, but it sounds like the answer is maybe. *grins* I don't really want to have more surgery to remove or trip the screw, but if it helps I won't say no.

I'm in a Medical Study!

Completely unrelated to my recent doctor appointments regarding my wrist, I'm participating in a paid medical study that, if I understand correctly, is about the effects of constriction during fetal development on something-or-other in adults. I forget. But apparently I was a large enough baby (Nine or ten pounds? I forget again. Pretty big.) to meet the investigator's criteria. I got a reminder email from her asking that I "bring or wear something tight fitting for the body fat testing (tight pants or shorts are best)." I asked whether fabric matters, and suggested either a snug pair of denim shorts, or my pair of velvet tights I own as ren faire garb. I wonder which she'll have me wear!
