Recovering

My left hand is swollen enough that I can't remove my ring. However, I can type with it! (Well, mostly; it's a little tricky with this splint on.) Pain is gone, except when I try to pick something up or otherwise put any tension on the wrist. Yay for that!

My sleep schedule is weird; it's in blocks of four hours. After an hour and a half in bed waiting for Morpheus (he seems to have been called away by other duties) I guess I'll get up and start my day. I need to get back to life again. Ideally, I'll start by paying some attention to my hair if I can manage it. It looks awful.

I'm probably going to walk to the grocery store two miles away. I wish I had one of those metal carts like Lisa has. Not being able to ride my bike, that would be tremendous. Instead, I'll wear my backpack. That's all assuming I can get my facemask and coat on with my hand as it is. It's 13 degrees F out, so bundling up is required for an hour and a half of walking.

More Recovering

I got my hair into a ponytail with only moderate pain and an ache afterward; yay!

I logged myself back in to the task-management system I use (Habitica) and made a to-do list for myself; I will be productive today! Though now I'm feeling sleepy again....

I tried to use my left hand a little to cut the hospital bracelet off my right arm. Pushing the scissors handle gave me a particular kind of pain; the sort that goes beyond sore muscles or surface abrasions and shouts that there is something really wrong internally. It left a slowly fading ache as a reminder not to do that. Getting there, but not healed yet.

This game about documenting safety violations and repairing city infrastructure sounds amazing.

And I am a huge dork.

Groceries

The trip was an ordeal; mostly the getting dressed and undressed parts. I just couldn't get my left hand into a mitten, so I kept it in my pocket. But the mission is accomplished and it didn't feel nearly as cold as I expected for some reason. I bought *almost* too much to fit in my backpack. I had to take pizzas out of their boxes, and the zipper didn't close all the way, but it all stayed put on the walk home. On the way, I met a man on Burnet Street who asked me if I could help him find a particular address for a place that does fingerprinting. Seemed like an odd thing to be walking around looking for, but I pulled it up on my phone and gave him directions.
