Shouting Guy

We have a window overlooking an alley with another condo building on the other side. On a balcony across from our bedroom, a man sits for many hours a day, shouting loud, angry, seemgingly random words. This word-salad kind of sounds like:

"Holy war! Nixon! Sales division! Affordable! Father! Rape!"

Etcetera.

This has been increasingly annoying during the day, but last night he was out shouting at 2 in the morning, loud enough to be heard through the closed bedroom window. I called police non-emergency to report it, and they said they'd send somebody out. Today, Mr. Shouty has a friend on the balcony; a large, shaved-headed guy who's just sitting across his little table from him. He looks like a could be a police officier, but he's been there for most of half an hour now, just listening. In fact, it looks like maybe he's fallen asleep.

I dunno. Regardless, I'm going to call the police again if he's shouting at night. I feel bad for him, but I already feel like I can't enjoy sitting on a nice day with my windows open. Add not being able to sleep at night and it's thoroughly ridiculous.

Movie Plots

I do not watch movies like a normal person, it seems. I have next to no interest in movies in general. When the newest Star Wars movie came out, for instance, I just didn't care; I needed proof first it was going to be worth the time to see. When I heard a lot of positive things from friends, I decided to read through the plot, and commentaries on the same, to see whether I'd enjoy it. I eventually did see it, and had a good time.

So I really don't care if movies get "spoiled" for me by someone telling me the plot because it doesn't spoil anything. If I don't know what happens, I suppose I feel like I don't know enough to decide if it's worth going to. (Something like The Sixth Sense is a vanishingly rare exception to this.)

Anyway, I hear that Civil War was pretty good, but I'd rather see an alternate history version of Reconstruction where Johnson is impeached out of office and Grant doesn't withdraw the troops from the Southern states.

I was pretty anxious in the morning about catching up on money and things, but I got a really nice 19 mile ride to the Botanic Gardens and back and am feeling better. There were so many folks out with their kids in trailers and things, including a couple on a tandem bike with a kid in a trailer. So cute!
