I opened up my Audiotron last night to diagnose the static on the audio output, but I think I fried some silicon somewhere in it. Trying to attach the scope to the transformer secondary to see if the power was clean, I shorted the two sides together with the ground clip. That stuff is all so small compared to vacuum tube-era gear!

It was pretty cheap at Goodwill and I wasn't using it anyway because of the static, but I feel kind of dumb about it. I'd prepped by finding some sine-wave MP3s to play through it for testing and running an ethernet cable to my workbench so it could talk to my NAS drive hanging on my router, but now it won't power on.

I guess I'll check the power supply when I get a chance, but I have a feeling I killed a microcontroller somewhere.
