Today is the quarterly teleconference for my company. Because he hates dealing with them, my team lean took today off. I can't help but respect such blatant weasling.
I am therefore left to set up the hardware for that at about noon today. On top of that, there's been a new patch from Microsoft that's been kicking our asses for two days and
serinthia and I are trying to work on three systems already this morning that have been hosed up by the thing. The solution seems to be to boot without network connectivity, connect, then run upates manually, but even doing that didn't work for one of our sales people, so they're going to have to ship their laptop here and I'll ship out a loaner until we fix it. This is far from the first time that's happened. Why can't Microsoft write patches that won't break computers? It's so damn sloppy.
Camera guy says he mailed it via Priority on Monday. It should be here today. If it is (and it really ought to be or I'll start getting concerned), I'll be able to play with it at the furry coffee gathering. I need to get a hold of some software that can manipulate Canon 20D raws. *Looks endearingly over at
tybis* I also need to get my tablet set up again so I can use the stylus for doing photo manipulation.
Why the hell do all of our users try to use a hardwire connection and a wireless connection at the same time? Is it any wonder that the network connectin becomes schizophrenic?
You know what I want to do right now? Play Ninja Gaiden. Not the arcade version, or any of the ones that came after the classic itself. The old, original, number-one 8-bit Nintendo Ninja Gaiden.
