(no subject)

After spending a good many hours off and on trying to narrow the weird errors I was having with the windows install on [livejournal.com profile] wooisme's computer down to either a bad CD-ROM drive or bad media, I finally got a clue and broke out the memory testing program. It's been a bad DIMM this whole time. Must've been fried in one of the brownouts. I probably should have checked that earlier, but I've never actually found a bad memory stick before. I get to surprise my sweetie with a working computer when she gets home! Plus I just talked to her and she comes bearing pizza. Pizza makes doggys happy. *grin*
