I have six pages of a Japanese book that my sensei gave us in class. We've worked through the first four pages. I want to have the next two figured out before I go back to school on Thursday. Just for fun, here are the first four pages.
Page 1:
一 あさ
あさに なりました。 まさおさんと はな子さんが おきました。 ふたりは がっこうへ いきます。 「おかあさん いって まいります。」 「いって いらっしゃい。」
1 Morning
Morning came. Masao and Hanako woke up. They both go to school. "Mother, say going. Say welcome."
(I don't think this is quite right...)
Page 2:
二 かっこう
ここは かっこうです。 大きい かっこうです。 みんなの かっこうです。 せんせいが きます。 せいとも きます。 みんな かっこうが すきです。
2 School
This is a school. The school is large. It belongs to everyone. Teacher comes. Students also come. The school is everyone's favorite.

三 きょうしつ
ここは 一ねんせいの きょうしつです。 きょうしつにわ 大きい こくばんが あります。 小さい こくばんも あります。 つくえや いすも あります。 「えみ子さん、 ほんを よんで ください。」 「はい。」 えみ子さんは 本を じょうずに よめました。
3 Classroom
This is the 1st grade classroom. In the classroom is a large blackboard. There is also a small blackboard. Desks and chairs are there. "Emiko, read a book." "Yes." Emiko read the book well.

四 うんどうじょう
ここは うんどうじょうです。 おんあの子は ぶらんこや すべりだいに のって います。 おとこの子は シーソーに のって います。 はな子さんと えみ子さんは なわとびを して います。 みんあ なかよく あそんで います。 せんせいも いっしょに あそんで います。
4 Playground
This is the playground. Girls ride the swings and slide. Boys ride the seesaw. Hanako and Emiko play jumprope. Teacher plays together (with them) too.
I really have to be better about working on this stuff consistently.
