In other news, I have new things!

From my friend [livejournal.com profile] anarchist_nomad who is moving away, I received a big, thick, pretty rug that, after much beating and vacuuming (he has kitties!) is on the floor of my room upstairs. It's really nice to put my feet on when I get out of bed early in the morning. It should also help reduce sound transfer through the floor into my parents' bedroom, and may even offer some heat insulation through the winter months as well. Yay!

From my sweetie [livejournal.com profile] lisagems came a new (to me) dresser, which I've already moved all of my clothing into. It replaces three five-foot tall CD towers full of CDs that, in large part, I haven't used since moving in. I took out just a few that there's some small chance I'll want and put them in a shorter tower on top of the closet. Now I don't have to leave my room to get dressed in the morning. I like that! It's a lot roomier than my old one too, as well as being a style that I prefer.

My new glasses arrived in the mail today. They are exactly the same as my old glasses, minus the crack that split the right lens into two pieces. They are a little shinier and newer looking too.

And finally, tomorrow or Friday, my new Fitbit is supposed to arrive in the mail. I'm looking forward to that, because I've been a little bit anxious about not collecting the feedback I'm used to on my activity. And without data on my activity, I haven't been collecting data about food as stringently either. I'm really missing having a tighter handle on my biological input/output totals.

Speaking of such things, I just want to quickly note a milestone. Since July, I am down about 25 pounds. I weigh less than 200 pounds (more or less; I can't vouch for my scale calibration) for the first time in my adult life. I've dropped waist size from 42/40 to 36, and am feeling pretty good! For me, it's really about the feedback; I pay attention to the Fitbit and don't eat more than it says I can eat. It makes it relatively easy.
