Spent a really fun day just going to various places with my sweetie today. After stopping at an auto parts place so I can change my oil tomorrow, we proceeded to several thrift stores and a flea market and ended up with several new toys each.

For my part, I have the double CD live Pink Floyd album 'Delicate Sound of Thunder' that [livejournal.com profile] wooisme bought for me and a 12 band Sherwood graphics equalizer that I found at Salvation Army. It has LEDs in the sliding levers that light up and it's very big and professional/geeky looking. It's replaced my old Realistic ten band one which is going to end up with my computer once I have an amp and speakers for it. Finally, at our last stop of the night, I was poking through the bin of computer games and CDs when I quite by accident found an Eels single, 'Last Stop; This Town'. I was really amazed to see that as [livejournal.com profile] boixboi, who introduced me to them, tells me that they're very obscure. Interestingly, I looked up and found the single on their website but on mine the track order is different. My copy just has three different versions of the same song, whereas the one on the site has three different songs. *shrug* It's a neat thing to have.

My speakers in the living room sound kind of mushy too. I think they're just getting old. They're a nice 120 watt 3-way set by Pioneer, but they belonged to my parents when I was just a rugrat. I set the equalizer up according to the frequency response chart on them, but the vocals were being drowned out by the music and I had to lower the 16hz through 32hz range a bit and punch it about 3 decibels at 2khz. It sounds pretty good, though I've been having some static in the highs. It's not the best stereo either though, so that could be an issue.

I'm going off to watch a movie and get a pawrub. *Woof!*
