I love old buildings. I also love old infrastructure. This picture is taken at a junction of both.
I'm posing on the south side of my parents' house, where this heavy metal door covers the chute that once accepted deliveries of coal for the house furnace. It was sealed up on the inside long ago, well before my parents moved in, but the exterior remains to tell its story.
