I slept in late today again. Why am I so tired?
Lisa and I spent a couple hours taking a nice walk from her place down to the Lake Michigan shore. We passed the giant dog beach and squeed over dogs. (Well, it was mostly me doing the squeeing; her appreciation is a little more dignified. *grins*) We walked south and found ourselves at a new place to us, the Montrose Point Bird and Butterfly Sanctuary.
It's a really pleasant little place, left to a mostly natural state with footpaths worn through and around it. Lots of pretty native wildflowers, birds alighting, bunnies hopping about, and, of course, moths and butterflies.
At the south edge, there was a veritable sea of black-eyed susans standing along the shore that +Lisa Hunter took a few photos of me with. I'm a bit blurry in this one, but I just love the field of flowers, the lake waters, and the Chicago skyline in the background.
I think she and I may end up here a few more times before the weather starts getting too cold.

As for now, I'm at Danae's place. We're leaving for Toronto tomorrow morning after rush hour abates.
