I dropped my brother T off at O'Hare airport yesterday after spending some time driving around. I took him to Mitsuwa for the first time, as well as a couple of thrift stores that I'd never been to. (The one right by O'Hare has great jeans!) It was a bit sad to leave him at the airport knowing I won't see him in person again for months. This morning, though, I'm eating the Taco Bell burritos he left in my little fridge upstairs, which makes me giggle. Thanks Tim!

I didn't leave Danae's place until about eleven at night yesterday. I should have gotten out earlier, but she and I have been playing through Final Fantasy 7. This is another first I get to introduce someone to; she'd seen some previous games in the series, but not 7. For me, I was worried about how well it would hold up, some 18 years after it's premier and my first play through. As it turns out, it's engaging not just for me, but for her as a new player/viewer, which is not only reassuring, but lots of fun!

I actually got onto a Playstation 2 kick by starting with Thousand Arms, a game I'd borrowed from Serinthia Kelberry years ago but never got around to playing. It's a combo fantasy RPG and dating sim. The main character, a spirit blacksmith, must go on dates with various women to develop higher intimacy levels in order to have them imbue various magics into the weapons you forge. It's more than a little silly, but kind of fun. Still, a few hours into the game, I decided that the gimmick was starting to feel played out and I changed over to FF7. I think Thousand Arms is the kind of thing I'd play once in a while if I had it around, but not all in one go.

Awake again after about five and a half hours of sleep, I'm leaving in a few minutes to drive to Waukegan with my parents' car to get a trailer hitch installed. Maybe I'll make a quick run through the thrift stores there, too, once I'm done. There are three of them there along one short stretch of Grand Avenue, so they're hard to resist.

---Edited to add:

U-Haul had not ordered/received the hitch parts; no hitch for me today. I have to reschedule once I know when the car will be available. It will be either tomorrow or Thursday. I'm hoping Thursday, since I have plans to spend tomorrow with Posi and Erik at House on the Rock.

I'm unamused, but determined.
