For my part, I figure that I'm more than happy to willfully and continually violate their terms of service, and that since I didn't have a paid account I wasn't supporting them anyway. If anything, people who are part of a repressive regime will have access to alternative viewpoints. Or LJ will shut me down. Either way, no biggie, as long as I have backups. *grins*
