I thought, just for a moment, about wearing this to work today.

It's just as well I didn't since I dropped my first fork-full of pie right on my shirt this afternoon.

It's kind of gray with a hint of purple. Or maybe purple with a hint of gray? It's on the border. Probably more gray than purple.

I have a sweatshirt about that color, although it's completely plain. It's rather worn and battered, but it's soft and very comfortable to wear, and I sometimes put it on when I need comforting. It just happens that I have a pair of jeans that are almost that shade of greyish-purple.
