My first intentionally prepared-for rainy bike commute home went well enough for me to think of bicycling as practical transportation even in inclement weather. I stayed quite dry, except for my face and hands. And one foot. I tuck my pants into my jeans on the right leg to keep my pants away from my chain, and that seems to have kept the jeans from sticking out past the rain pants and wicking water into my sock. Next time I'll tuck both sides. The fenders made a big difference though, keeping spray from splashing all over my feet. After getting home, I lined my panniers with garbage bags. They might have been waterproof when I bought them, but they are not anymore. Still, things only got minorly damp.

I feel more and more like a real bike commuter. *grins* I'm planning to ride through the 90%-likely rain and thunderstorms tomorrow too.
