I'm still trying to figure out what to do. I spent an hour and a half talking with my parents this morning. My dad suggested yesterday that, since I was having trouble getting motivated to go out and be active, he would call this morning and talk with me as I was walking. I didn't actually get out and walk (or out of bed during the call), but talking was really good and gave me things to think about.
My back was hurting from lying down so I got up. I cut the cord off a fan with a broken blade (a suggestion from my parents) and made a ground wire for my turntable. I think I've got the speed set right, though it wobbles very slightly; I think there might be dirt on the platter where the belt wraps around. I cleaned it a while back with alcohol, but maybe I didn't get it. Vinyl is finicky.
And as I think, I'm digitizing Lisa's records for her, finally. I'm looking forward to expanding my musical education, if I continue to feel up to it. Side one of the Violent Femmes' self-titled album is on right now.

I finished the side and am listening to the recording. It sounded terrible. Much worse than the record itself did. Muddy and hollow. I puzzled over why. Might be the line out on the stereo. Might be a cheap sound card on the computer. Maybe bad cabling? I started poking at settings in Audacity and realized I was recording through the webcam microphone rather than the computer's line in. That would do it.
