Volunteering at the Recyclery

At the Recyclery today, there was one person who's leaving next week for a bike trip to Seattle, and another person who I think by her accent is an immigrant or refugee from an African country. (I helped her replace a brake caliper.)

How cool is this? I wonder if there's something like this in Syracuse. I wonder how one could be put together.
