Chicago Book Store Closing
May. 29th, 2016 09:54 amI woke up three or four times last night from a dream about going to Shake Rattle and Read, a long-time Chicago book and music store. They closed permanently this month, and for a last couple of days were giving away their entire stock to avoid putting it in a dumpster. I carefully avoided reading about the exact dates; I would have been sad for several reasons, and possibly ended up with a crap load of stuff I didn't need. Dreams as prompts, I thought about going today, but I checked on the status first; everything is well gone.
I will miss the place, even though I was only there a few times, and hope the owner manages well.
Yesterday was a rather difficult day. I'm not sure why. It felt as though I hadn't taken my medication, though I had. Today will be better. I'm missing an under-saddle bag for my bike with some tools in it, and I'm not sure if it was stolen or misplaced. Other bikes on the rack still had their bags, and I try very hard not to leave mine on the bike. Maybe it's just in a good hiding place. Today, I'm going shopping. Aldi has a saddle bag with tools in it on clearance, if there are any left. If not, maybe I'll hit up Target. A trip to Big!Lots is in order today too.
