Aug. 16th, 2018 08:16 amI was just advised that we should not be getting overtime hours at work right now. Oops. I'm taking someone's shift on Saturday, so maybe I'll have tomorrow off.
Danae gave me another idea for nail polish; clear sparkly. I might try some of that as a first go. Someone suggested starting with a french manicure on my previous post. I've never had a manicure and I think I might enjoy the experience, but I'm going to wait until money is a little less tight.
I'm up to 1089 bike miles over 81 hours for the year. Not as much as I might have had without mechanical problems, but it's nice to be getting the exercise and outside time. And that's 81 hours I wasn't stuck in a car or on a train!

Perseverance outside of UW-Parkside, connected to a trailer full of 75 pounds of books I bought at the Friends of the Library book sale that year.
Riding a bike with a heavy trailer is different from an unloaded one in a way that is surprisingly analogous to driving a loaded truck instead of a car. My trailers are in Kenosha right now; I really hope that the next place I live will afford me space to keep one handy for big grocery trips and such.
That's my old set of panniers, complete with duct tape repairs covering most of the bottom. The archives staff at UW-P gave me a wonderful going-away present in the form of a new set of panniers that are on my bike now. They always make me think of them.
