stormdogI was listening to Laurie Anderson's 5 LP, 1983 album United States Live on my phone while running errands today. These words from the spoken word piece "Happy Birthday" made me laugh a loud, wry laugh, in a sort of 'I'm living in some bizarre surreal dystopian future that I can't wake from" of way.
"In our country, you're free and so you're born and so they say, "You're free, " so happy birthday.
And even if you were born to lose--even if you were a complete wreck when you were born--you might still grow up to be president ...
