From dancing with Erik last night.

For the first time, I put she/her pronouns on my name tag.

To see how that felt.

Nice skirt!

And how did it feel?

I speak as one who has answered to nothing else for nearly fifty years of course. :o)

YOu look really good in that outfit. And some friends of my son came to visit, and one of them (mostly female-appearing) said, "My name is {Artillery Shell}", and I said, "What pronouns?", and they said, "They or them", and then thanked me for asking. I feel it's just common politeness to address people the way they want to be addresssed.

You really rock that skirt - I don't wear skirts myself, but you really look great in it. And little girls usually like having skirts that spin out when they twirl. And here's a collection of dresses and skirts that are designed to spin and twirl, in some pretty awesome patterns.

And the whole thing with pronouns has always annoyed me, the English language demands that you decide whether you're talking about a male, a female, or a "neuter" (at least it's not as bad as those languages where every noun has a grammatical gender that has nothing to do with what the critter is). As I said, I feel that it's just common politeness to address someone the way they prefer. (Although there aren't too many people I'd address as "Your Majesty".)

I figured you might like that one ;-)

I just wish they had more items in my size (other than dresses).

WHen I was a kid I'd take a big bath or beach towel and wear it like a cape and run so it would billow out behind me. I once jumped off the garage roof while wearing a fake cape, hoping I might learn how to fly in the process. Didn't work :-(
