Surprise!

For the second time, we were literally in the process of submitting an offer on a home - we told our realtor to submit and they were drafting an offer for us to sign - and something has happened that completely changed the situation and is forcing us to reassess everything. This is making me a little panicky.

The first time, it was because the listing agent for the house we really wanted (Winnipeg Street) seemed to have withheld our offer from the sellers, probably because he was representing the buyer on another offer and stood to make double the commission if he was the buying and selling agent. We were literally waiting to get the draft offer to sign it when we found out the sellers accepted the other offer. In fact, we found out later that they did *not* know another offer was coming.

The second time, it's because the offer made on Winnipeg had just fallen through so we had to rethink *again* whether we wanted to offer on it instead. But we eventually decided not to because we have zero trust in their realtor and are too unsure about what's actually going on with the condition of that house. Which sucks a lot because we both *really* liked it.
