It's funny to think about the experience of people who've just always known their gender and felt connected to it, and whose gender matches their sex. It's hard for me to understand. But, as trans and other queer folks keep telling cishet folks, just because you don't understand doesn't mean it's not valid and important!
I had to do some thinking! Because I'm around friends who are constantly thinking about—and, in our fucked-up society, having to fight for—their gender. And I'm just like "mumble mumble guess I'm a girl despite owning 2000 black dysphoria hoodies." Seems like I got off easy in at least that regard.
Anyway. I don't think any identity struggle is a waste of time. It's a process of getting to know who you are and that's always important.
