Wow. I've never lived somewhere near enough to wildfires like this to experience any of the problems from smoke and ash. I have a piece of furniture sitting on the porch to air out (a stereo cabinet I just bought that was in a home with a smoker) and now there's a fine layer of ash or soot or something sitting on it and all the shelves too.
