Apr. 4th, 2003 05:55 pmOff toward home today. It's been a good 5 days. I had a really pleasant time just hanging around, watching movies, talking with Mike... Despite his worries, he has not been boring me or being uninteresting. Hear that Mike? I had a nice time. Honestly! *grin* And I'm still worried about you. You're a great guy. Don't forget that.
Looks like the cat, who I've tentatively named Amaranth (that's a name my mother used to use for her characters a lot and it's stuck in my brain from way back...), is not coming home with me. I really wish she could. I'm going to miss her a lot. Not as much as Mike and his kids, but a lot. She's the first cat I've found who was really snuggly and cuddly. I have pictures of her though. She's very pretty.
Mike's older daughter, Lindsey, asked me why I had to go. Aww... I guess they're going to miss me too. They are really great kids when they aren't fighting, or pestering the cat. They don't have much experience with animals I guess. Mike's talking about keeping the cat, so maybe they'll learn.
Seems I've got a welcome reception all lined up for my return to the Midwest. I'm meeting up with Benjie, and hopefully Lander and Synicism too on my 5 hour (!) layover in Chicago. As Benjie put it, it'll be my 'welcome-home-except-you-have-to-get-back-on-the-bus-and-go-to-your-other-home-party'. *smile* Sounds like my kind of party. I've missed my friends.
And I've missed Andrea. another two days without being able to talk to her! *sigh* But only 7 days 'till she's in Wisconsin. Just a week now! *happy smile* I miss her so...
Well, I gues I'm getting off the computer before too long so I can pack it up and get ready to go. This whole little vacation has really been a worthwhile time. I hope to get back out here again someday when I can meet Mike's wife too. I do enjoy travelling. And I've really been enjoying meeting people too. Wonders may never cease. *smile*
'Till later, my dear readers...
