It's been a while since I've written here. *g* I wasn't at my computer. After work Thursday I went down to Chicago. Or tried to. I missed the turn off from I-294 onto I-90, and got kinda lost. My spatial relationship ability, when it comes to directions, is really very poor. That's kinda odd to me 'cause in most cases it's pretty good. Fortunately, with some phone assistance from home I figured things out. Finally got to Lander's dorm. Having never been there before, it was kinda neat to see. Not a bad little place. Unfortunately, I was rather late, which I feel bad about. I tried to have my dad e-mail and let him know I'd been delayed since I didn't seem to have the phone number with me... Blah. Anyway, I felt stupid, but it all worked out and we both went over to Synicism's apartment to sped a nice evening. Of course, I spent very near half an hour or more looking for a parking place, but it was worth it. So, spent some very nice cuddle time with Lander and Syn, and went to bed.

Left in the morning on Friday and went back to work. Ended up cleaning the dust filter by the miniatures line, then jury-rigging a big air ducting system for it out of 2x4's, cardboard, and duct tape. Well, it works. Afterward, Lander was kind enough to invite me back down to Chicago. *sighhhh* I'm not sure how I lived 23 years without friends to hug and care about. We looked at nifty computer games for a while 'till it became apparent that going out to the play we were thinking about seeing wasn't quite going to work out. Oh well. Looks like next weekend. Benjie appered online at some point, and I mercilessly distracted Lander from typing by rubbing his back while they tried to arrange a meeting up at his apartment for dinner.

We spent a very relaxing few hours having pizza and watching the first couple episodes of 'Queer As Folk', which Lander had on DVD. While I didn't find it thrilling, it wasn't bad. I didn't realize the show was quite so... graphic...(guess I should have expected that from a Showtime series) but all in all it wasn't bad. I did have trouble keeping a couple of the characters seperate. No surprise there. . Maybe that's part of why I don't watch much TV. It's so much easier with animation... Fell asleep on the couch. Got up in morning before the other two, so I washed the dishes and the top of the stove (heh, gave me something to do), then I read aout half of 'No Exit' by Sarte, which was sitting out on the coffe table. Never read that one, but it was good. It would be interesting to see it done somewhere. I feel like you can never really experience a play without seeing it performed.

Anyway, they finally got up, and after a little DDR, Lander and I left Benjie to do his homework and take care of other necessities, and went back to his dorm. His new roomate still hadn't begun moving in, so we were free to poke around with his computer some more. As the time came around, we went over to the cafeteria for food, which was of course closed. Exploring other options, Lander showed me a very nice little Mexican place near the college where we ate a tasty filling meal which Lander was was a dear and paid for for me since I had left my 10 note at Syn's on Thurdday. Oops. Thanks Lander, I owe you one.

Returning to Lander's, we found that his yet absent roommate had moved enough stuff into the dorm room to entirely cover one of the beds and mound up about three feet high on it. Hehe. He never did show up in person while I was there. Speaking of while I was there, it seems I probably should have left a little earlier... I guess I stayed a bit longer than Lander would have liked. This weekend was probably the first time I've been out with friends and found that there were times when I actually wasn't very self-conscious and worried about being stupid. It was really kinda neat. I wonder if that's why, toward the end of the evening, I didn't realize it was time to go. I'm usually nervous about being the last or only visitor somewhere. I feel very unsure about the etiquette of that... Maybe it's just a lack of experience being at other people's domiciles. Maybe it's the element of Asperger's Syndrome. Maybe it's several things. Whatever the reason, I made Lander feel awkward in having to let me know that I should get going, and I feel bad about that. *sigh* It's things like that that make me wonder if I'll ever be able to interact entirely normally with other people. I just don't seem to pick up on things like that that other people seem to instinctively understand. It's a little depressing. I guess I just have to keep trying to get better at it.

Got home to Kenosha (a much easier trip up along I-94) and stopped by my dad's friend Bob's house where the usual Saturday night game group was assembled. My dad was planning to run Seventh Seal, but his schoolwork left him unprepared to run, so we ended up just playing a few rounds of 'Before I Kill You Mr. Bond' and a few more of 'Apples to Apples'. It was somewhat entertaining. My brother Jim was at home working on a school assignment, so upon returning home I offered my help.

I really like my brother. He's a good guy. He's got a wonderfully strange sense of humour, at times very like mine, and I enjoy being with him. He doesn't seem to mind that i've been so huggy lately either. *g* He even seemed happy to be on the recieving end of a hug this evening. I asked him if I'd really been behaving so differently recently, just to see what he thought. He didn't even have to think about it before replying in the affirmative. Heh. We worked on his thingy about the civil war 'till about 2:00 A.M. Then I went upstairs while he logged into Everquest. I can't believe some of the comments he left in his paper, like in his bio on Jefferson Davies. The title line read as follows "Jefferson Davies (husy) (WordPerfect told me so!)" LOL He's actually going to leave that in there too... Yes, I like him. *g*

Off to my grandparent's tomorrow it seems, probably taking Jim and his girlfriend Lara with, which is cool. I like both of them. 'Till later.
