Another interesting glitch. My server seems to have lost it's DNS entry with fdns.net. I've fixed the problem, but their zone files don't update until midnight, so I won't be able to recieve or check mail on my primary accounts (anything @stormdog.fdns.net) until then. Those who want to send me something should use my juggle_man AT hotmail DOT com address, which I will wade through for that purpose until my good ones are working again. I was almost expecting this to happen the first time I wasn't around to correct it in person. My luck seems to work out that way. Heh. Fortunately I talked to my brother at home and managed to get it corrected. And yes, at some point I'll actually write about what I've been doing here. Probably tonight....

I'm sitting here with a cat on my lap now. This is rather unexpected, since Mike doesn't have a cat. She showed up outside, standing on the window sill while we were eating, and I went outside to see her...

She is the sweetest cat I have ever met. I went out and picked her up and she cuddled up against me like she never wanted to let go. She reached up with her paws and put them on my neck and shoulder, and then she started sucking on my ear-lobe. She looks like she's about half-grown, and she's so skinny. She's got absolutely gorgeous long black and white fur... Heh. I am actually playing with the idea of trying to take her home with me somehow. She's got no collar or ID tags or anything. I guess I'll see if she's still hanging around in a few days. I gave her some turkey and water, and she seems a little less desperate for food now, though she's still insistent about trying to suck on my ears. She's such a sweetie.

Other than that, Mike, his two kids, and I, all driven by his grandmother since Mike doesn't drive, went out shopping earlier. I got to see most of Ontario. It really is fairly small. Somehow it has a Wal-Mart anyway. Mike was telling me about how they drove the local place he used to go to out of business, but I won't go into that. We got food, and Mike's grandmother was kind enough to go to a few places where they might have hats. I've been wanting a nice leather wide-brimmed hat like I used to have, and they seem to be next to impossible to find in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. I did in fact find one, so I'm kind of pleased about that. Maybe I'll put a picture of me in it here.

I was also lucky enough to chat with Andrea for a few hours yesterday night. *smile* That was nice. 11 days now...

For those with some time to kill, here's the rambling commentary I wrote in my notebook on the trip to Oregon. It's long. Anyone who is actually interested enough to read it, or even parts of it, is welcome to comment.
I suppose it ends kind of inconclusively, as I didn't write anything directly after arriving in Ontario, but it probalby wouldn't have been all that interesting if I had. As it is, it end with a mention of Andrea, and that's just as good as anything else I could put there.
