May. 8th, 2003 12:04 pmI'm still in deep thought about my job/career options. I'm having second thoughts about changing where I'm at now to go to something like Best Buy, or another of those little computer places... I'm just not sure if that would do anything for me either, and it would certainly be a much less flexible working environment.
I think what I need to do is make an appointment with someone who knows these things (like a career counselor at the local college/technical college) and get some decent professional advice...
I would really like to go back to school and get an IT related degree. If that's what I need to do. I've talked to a one person who has one and he told me it actually doesn't do all that much for you. And my dads good friend, who does networking for IBM, doesn't have any official training anyway (he was in the right place at the right time and has been doing it for years...), so he's not a good one to ask either.
And finally, I'm still even giving a little thought to going in a yet different direction, like going back to UWP for an English degree. I could see being an editor perhaps. I believe I would enjoy that. (Don't worry, the oft-times sloppy writing here is not indicative of my writing style in general, at least as far as technical perfection goes.) *shrug* I guess I have a little time before I'd have to be registered for school in the fall, if that's what I end up doing. I'm just getting rather tired of not being on a course that has any kind of destination to it. Certainly not all who wander are lost, but I think that I want to stop wandering...
Oh, and a quiz...
