wooisme and I picked up another Technics turntable at a thrift store a little while ago, and this one actually has a headshell and stylus, though, like the other one, it has a broken belt. It looks like I'll probably have to mail order one from LPgear.com if I want one, unless anyone has an idea on where to find one semi-locally. (Michigan or Wisconsin...)
Not having been sucessful, I played with one of our other thrift store finds to console myself. I put the LP we have with Colonel Sanders testifying about his personal salvation through music on the turntable and used a finger to spin it up. I note two things of interest:

- The labels on the center of the record indicating the side numbers are on the wrong sides! (sloppy, sloppy...)
- When spun backwards, Colonel Sanders, contrary to popular belief, does not chant 'Worship the devil chicken! Goo-goo ga joob!'. I was slightly disappointed by this.
As for the rest of the goings on in my life, we need to pack up e-bay stuff today, but other than that it should be a nice relaxy sort of day. Much like yesterday. Had a good time going out for food withboixboi and idothattopeople on Friday. Though we didn't manage to get out to see RotK like we were talking about, we had a good time talking and I had the best and hottest Jamaican Jerk burger I have yet to experience. Then, yesterday evening, my raccoon took me for Mongolian Barbeque for the first time. Though initially overwhelming, it was, all in all, pretty good. The containers of raw meat are kind of off-putting so I stuck with shrimp and scallops most of the night, but when we had bowls of sirloin with blue cheese together, it was really good...
I'm looking forward to mine and my dear one's trip out to see my family in a couple days. Finally, TMI though it may be, I had a really good time last night. After the barbeque. Just had to share...
