emrldgrrl was out this way for Penguicon so we spent a bunch of time with her. She stayed with us on Friday night and the three of us sat up until about 5 in the morning after leaving the con, just talking. I really want to spend more time with friends like that; just one or two other people. It's a very comfortable space for me and I really get to know the people we're with better. It's just tough for me with any large number of people.
The con was really nice too. I didn't feel overwhelmed by people, and we had a really good time hanging around con suite, bumping into friends likethepiercedrose and Topher among a good number of others, Andrea got a book signed by Neil Gaiman (and we have a picture of the two of them together!)... It was good.
Today, spent entirely around the apartment with my beloved, was just as good. God/dess, I just love her so inexpressibly much.
Before Andrea got up, I spent a couple hours on my new computer and encountered some strange issues. I'll have to work on it more when I have time. Once I get the new one up and running there's going to be a big computer swap in here and Andrea will get one that's dates from after the late iron age. (It's a Pentium II 333, so it's not too bad, but it's annoyingly slow sometimes) I am also a little worried about my car which has been misbehaving after the trip to Wisconsin. Please big blue, hold together for a while. I know you can at least get me to the 400k mile mark. That should be another three months or so...
Tomorrow is going to be my first day of school. The first day in a long time of not being able to see Andrea when she gets home. I'm more than a little excited about school. This is what I've wanted for years. Still I'm going to have very little time at home over the next good long time and I'm a little stressed about that. I'm going to miss my raccoon, and I was feeling a little bit down about that and other things just a few minutes ago. But I just need to take a step back when I'm feeling that way. My day was so good. My weekend was so good. My life is so good right now I am loved by a truly wonderful and beautiful soul who I love in return. Everything else is details...
