I just deleted about 2400 messages from my email stores. I still have 1300 messages sitting in my inbox, but the house cleaning on my other folders is a very welcome thing. Now I need to figure out why my filtering rules to move emailed Livejournal replys into their own folder automagically isn't working.

Andrea and I had a most wonderful Sunday together. Many hours spent at the Ann Arbor antiques market followed by an hour at the Oasis hot tubs followed by food at the Arbor Brewing Company. Andrea has a bunch of trade dollars from her current job and, since we've paid our rent for the last time before we're moving out of this apartment, we're using a bit of the rest that she has on things like good food. Speaking of good food, I should have trusted my instincts not to go with a Mexican choice there. I love their Jamaican jerk burger but the burritos were fairly nondescript (and I wasn't impressed by the portion). Still, it was a beautiful day and a beautiful night spent with a beautiful girl. With Sunday in mind, I didn't mind so much knowing that I had to go back to work in the morning.

My prized find of the day; a picture postcard featuring an exquisitely detailed painting of the front of the Kenosha theatre circa 1930. After I found the card amongst a dealer's huge collection I nearly found myself jumping up and down in place. I showed the card to my raccoon and, as she headed off to the ATM to get a little cash for it, I rambled on to the dealer in great detail about the theatre, its history, and my experiences with it. I think she was even mildly interested.

1930 is only a year or two after the theatre was built; I'm pretty sure it was finished in 1929. As a picture of the theatre essentially right after construction I think the piece has a lot of historical value. The next time I see any of the theatre people I know back in Kenosha I'm going to see if anyone over there would like copies. Maybe I can contribute to the knowledgebase on Kenosha's theatres that they've been expanding over the years. I was so excited to find it! There's a painted on advertisement on the side of the building that's been worn to illegibility by the passage of time. I always wondered what it used to say; now I know! It's all right there in the picture! The feeling of elated discovery I had is still fresh in my mind. I am a huge theatre geek, but I am not ashamed...

Upon talking with Andrea earlier today I learned that we're not going to be at Windycon. We have yet to decide whether we're staying home that weekend or visiting my family in Wisconsin, but the cost of the hotel room and gas on top of admission to go to a con where we'll most likely see all the same people that we're going to see at MFF seems, in the end, to be overbalancing the desire to go and hang about with everybody over there. We'll still see everyone at Furfest, right?

More excitement in the technical aspects of my life; I finally got around to connecting my Cuecat bar code scanner up to my 'puter again to try scanning the Postal Service Delivery Confirmation labels into my spreadsheets. Works like a charm! I just wish all our items for sale were bar-coded and databased; that would be so great! Unfortunately, for our purposes it would be entirely impractical.

Blathering over: more late-breaking news as it occurrs (or when I get around to writing it up).

This is my wife.

Not only does she make quite the sultry librarian type...

She can debug my HTML.

It's ok to be jealous.
