It's snowing out here in Detroit for the first time this year! The ground is covered in a layer of icy slush and snow! I'm so glad I stopped and got parts to fix my windshield wipers today. I'd been putting it off for a couple of weeks, which led to some consternation on my mate's part as we drove through the rain to Furfest. ("But I can just lean way over to the right like this and drive. No problem sweetie!" She wasn't buying it.)
So of course when I found I had to run out to the truck for something, I took my chance to run around in the snow barefoot! I wanted to do it in the first snow of the year and it felt so nice! My feet aren't totally used to the cold and I couldn't stay in the slush long, but it just felt so good to be out there like that. I don't think the guy who walked past me even noticed that I didn't have shoes on, though I imagine he thought the unbuttoned cardigan (my mate just found a few cardigans for me at the thrift store since I told her I was looking for a sweater; I love them!) and no shirt was a bit odd.
I love snow! Fresh fallen snow makes the world look so pristine and beautiful that you can forget about all the ugliness for a while...
