Jan. 20th, 2005 10:08 am*erfs* I'm hungry today. Fortunately, my freshly domesticized raccoon-girl made a bunch of really good polenta-type stuff last night that is now waiting for me in the lunch room. *giggle* Not that you can ever really domesticate a raccoon.
Actually, I am so proud of all the work my sweetie is doing since leaving her corporate hell. She's spending more time by far working at home on ebay than she spent at her previous place of employment. wooisme is posting 20+ items per day in an attempt to clean out the apartment and make money doing it. As she noted yesterday the items she's done already haven't even made a dent. She could do this for months...
She's really worried that this isn't going to work out but I have a great deal of faith and confidence in her. I've seen her doing ebay for over a year and she takes decent pictures (a lot better than a vast number of the ones I've seen out there), write good ad copy (much better than the average since she is actually concerned about spelling, grammar, and avoiding random capitalizations), and she has a great eye for stuff! Not only do I think she's going to be great, but I can already see how much happier and less stressed she is, even through the work is taking her much later into the evening than she expected. She's so dedicated and industrious. *hugs the raccoon girl*
I've taken a leap myself and finally signed up for my Microsoft 70-215 exam. I've been going over the same study material enough that I've reached the point of diminishing returns. I went through all 150 questions on my Transcender last night as Andrea worked on Ebay and I passed it fairly handily. That last long session served to cement a few things that have hung me up on practice exams in the past. I think that, at this point, further marathon-studying would just be counter-productive and lead to self doubt. I'm still nervous and I'm still poring over study material between calls at work, but I really think I'm going to do ok. Of course, at that point I have to launch right into the Network Environment studying, but it feels really good to be accomplishing things.
Wow! As I've been typing this over the course of the day, there's been a guy in here replacing all of our cieling flourescents. It's brighter in here than I've ever seen it. It's actually taking a little getting used to (the one right over my cube was totally burned out) but it's nice!
Anyway, had a suggestion forcrazycatladymel: we have this movie we decided we need to share with you. We found it at a thrift store and had to pick it up, but we want to see it before sending it off to Ebay land. It's called Baptistman. The jacket is a parody of the Batman movie cover and the blurb on the back describes he and Baptist-boy's dealings with the evil Pie-face. Want to get together on Saturday with Andrea and I and celebrate my latest certification (or provide consolations if I fail the test....)? I know, I should probably call and talk to you. Maybe I will. I'm just terrible on the phone.
