Apr. 7th, 2005 10:08 pmDoes anyone know what's going on with Comcast internet service out in Warren? Actually, I'm just curious if it's happening to anybody else.
I got home and had no net connection. I rebooted my machines and power-cylced my cable modem, router, and switch; no effect. After a while, internet access was back, but no DNS service. Nothing resolved, but I could ping public IP addresses and the Comcast DNS servers, but they weren't doing anything for me apparently. Now, I can resolve some sites, but not others. Livejournal works for instance (though it wasn't earlier) but hotmail and, irritatingly, my own server, stormdog.fdns.net, are resolving sporacicly. Sometimes I can connect to my mail server and sometimes I can't. I called my brother and had him ping my server; it resolves for him but times out. A tracert got all the way through a couple of Comcast routers in Michigan and then timed out. Anyone else having similar issues? Can you get to stormdog.fdns.net?
Just curious. I hope this is resolved soon. I'm too tired and/or busy packing up my truck to call Comcast and listen to someone saying that it's a known issue and they have no ETR...
