On a different topic:

So I'm getting a bunch of boardgames together to sell on Ebay. I've got a few classic games that are probably worth more to me in the form of liquid assets at the moment than they are as collector's items. Therefore, as much as I'd like to keep them, I'm really wavering on selling a couple of things like my copy of Dark Tower and my two original Dungeon!s. I was going to include Dragonlance in that list, but apparently it isn't worth all that much. I also have the Dungeons and Dragons Computer Labyrinth Game which I'm probably going to part with since I don't have any sentimental attachment to that one and the pieces are still on the sprues.

Anyway, since I'm considering selling these things, I'd really like to have a chance to play them once or twice more before I do. It seems that board games are really going out of style these days and that makes me a bit sad. It's difficult to find anyone to play them with.

As I was thinking about writing Ebay copy yesterday, it struck me that, over the next couple of weekends, I'm going to be hanging out with a large number of people among whom I would expect the proportion of old-school geeks and board-gamers to be pretty significant. How about we get together and play some classic boardgames at either Windycon or Midwest Fur Fest? Are you going to be there? Do you want to relive, or meet for the first time, a couple of games from back when games had some true individuality and character? I'd love to have a serious board gaming session. I could even borrow a few of my parents games, like Titan (I love that one!), Freedom in the Galaxy (they wanted to make Star Wars but couldn't get a license), or their huge Lord of the Rings game that makes the one they're publishing now look like simplified Tiddly-winks. Oh, almost forgot! I have the Xanth board game and the Myth Fortunes board game! Those were/are my two favorite comedy/fantasy series and I was enough of an outcast that the fact that the Xanth games has the only truly enjoyable single player version I've found in a board game was a really good thing for me back when my parents got it for me.

Any takers? You can respond here or email me. How about it?
