Making progress; I did that from memory and it's all correct. Ten down; ｔhirty-six more to go.

I started to change the brake shoes on my truck today. I got as far as disassembling the driver's side assembly and then I took the drum off the passenger side for a reference. Hmm. The brake system seems to be hemorrhaging fluid all over the inside of the drum. That may be good though, because the pad on the secondary shoe seems to be so worn that it may be only the lubrication of the brake fluid that's kept the drum from being scored badly by the shoes. Or maybe it has been already; it's hard to tell under all the gunk. I at first thought that the whole shoe assembly had gotten hot enough for parts of it to melt and resolidify into amorphous blobs until I realized that it was just congealed hydraulic fluid. In any case, it looks pretty fubarred. I know enough to know when I don't know enough; it's off to the mechanic tomorrow for repairs that I can't afford. Whee!

I should go to bed now where my mate is already asleep. Stress over the car issue lead to a couple of stupid bits of edginess with each other. I'm sorry sweetie. Does it help to know that, after the nice long shower I took, putting the lavender body lotion you bought for me on my face and hands made me feel better? Even when you're not physically there, you can make me feel better my star. *hugs the raccoon-girl*
