(no subject)

(Pardon me if there are errors in here; I'll fix them when I get home. I'm finally done on the phone and have to get back to work!)

I have now been on hold with Rimage for over an hour and a half. Just waiting for a support tech. Kill me now. I've caught up on a bunch of stupid admin tasks while waiting, and swapped out the backup tapes in the server room. Still on hold.

Fortunately, I have other things occupying my mind. I won't say what things those are since this is a family-friendly (and I mean that in the figurative sense, since members of my literal family read this and I doubt they'd care!) post.

Managed to get almost caught up on my ledger last night. Just a week or so of transactions to enter, then a statement to reconcile my account with, and I'll be up to date. Then I can watch all my money dissapear into bills. Still, it feels so good to know that I'm actually going to be able to pay them all soon.

The weekend was good; Sunday was spent helping wyldkyttin and crimferret with a couple things. I brought the truck to help them move stuff, but they didn't have keys to their new place and couldn't move yet. So instead, I assisted with car work and my mate helped haul some books to a used book store. I ended up with three boxes of books in the truck that the store wouldn't take (And were going to throw out!! Can't let that happen!) that Andrea is going to donate to a thrift store. She also bought me a gift from what she tells me is a fantastic erotica section. We're planning to investigate further when we're down in the area for anarchist_nomad's party later on this month.

Saturday was spent getting the bedroom almost clean; things are looking so good at home! Then, I hooked up with my brother and went over to serinthia and todd_riverden's place for gaming, talking, and movies. I want to thank Todd and Serin for letting my brother be a part of things and for making him feel so accepted. That means a lot to me!

Friday was spent in the company of posicat down at his place. The plan was to get together for entertainment of the audio-visual variety. That swiftly turned into the two of driving out to look at electronical toys. I'd never been to a Fry's and was very impressed! Hadn't been to a Microcenter since I moved from Michigan either; I had lots of fun chatting with Posi about all the hardware that I can't afford.

After that, he introduced me to the fabulous QQ Chinese Buffet (which was so good that I took Andrea there on the way home on Sunday since we were in the area (had no idea we were that close to Crim and Kyttin). Yummy! I got a compliment from one of the staff on my hashi too. *smiles*

And then we got back to Posi's place where we watched the indescribably odd Baptistman. Never let it be said that when I am asked for a strange movie, I fail to deliver. I ended up staying there for the night due to the lateness of the hour. We woke up about tenish, and Posi kindly drove me back home, since Serin had driven me to work and I was without vehicle. On the way, we stopped at a barn sale where we saw some fantastic old mechanical things and chatted briefly with another patron about the treasures you can find at places like that. So true. I'd take a Goodwill and garage sale over a Neiman-Marcus or a Sax Fifth Avenue any day. Thanks for the fun times Posi!
