stormdog: (Geek)
Here begins the tech purge.

I have five, and possibly one or two more in the basement, Seagate Hornet Travan 20GB internal IDE tape drives. If anyone can actually use them, speak up and they're yours. They are mountable in either a 3.5 inch bay, or a 5.25 inch bay with adapters, which I have plenty of to go with them.

Also up for grabs are two Symbol Spectrum 24 wireless token ring access points. I have absolutely no use for these devices. In fact, I can't imagine ever having a use for these devices. If you want them, they're yours.

Also up for grabs: an HP Photosmart 7260 color inket photo printer. It has a built in memory card reader that reads Compact Flash, Smart Media, and two other form factors that I don't remember. Color prints on it do look pretty nice, but there is a mechanical problem that results in the print cartridge sometimes going *bang bang* against the end stop of it's travel sometimes. To be honest, I used it only as a card reader over the last year or so, and now that I have a little USB card reader for Andrea, I don't need it. It has a USB interface, no parallel. If you want it, it's yours.

I have two UPSs, neither of which are currently working and right now I don't have time to mess with them. The first one is a TrippLite SmartPro UPS (Tybis, you have dibs on it if you want, followed by Posi). The second one is an APC Smart UPS v/s 420. They won't turn on. If you want either of them, just let me know

I also have a number of monitors of various ages, none of which are new, and none of which are larger than 15". They'll do in a pinch if you need a backup or a monitor for a secondary computer or something. Not sure how many I have that are in usable shape right now, so first come first served.

Also available are a few older computer cases, most ATX, a couple AT, and one hefty Compaq Proliant PIII (I think) server that's a complete system; it just has one bad fan that isn't allowing the BIOS to POST. Once again, if you want them, they're yours. Just let me know what kind of case you're looking for and I'll let you know if I have one.

And, out in the garage, I have three Dell Poweredge servers, one with 5 smallish SCSI drive in it, that need to find homes. I have two fairly big ones that I believe are dual PII or PIII boards (only one processor on them) and a smaller one that I think is a single processor board. I can probably find memory for them for you too. Free to a good home!

That's all for the moment; more may follow. If you know anyone who might want these, feel free to pass the info on. If anything doesn't get claimed, I'll probably post this to the LAFF list and see if anyone there is interested. If they don't move that way, I may just toss them. Of course, I may not too; I can't bear to see tech get thrown away most times and it may just get packed away into the basement somewhere. Please help my mate keep her sanity by snagging some of it!

*shakes head* Nothing like getting up after sleeping through forty-five minutes of alarm clock to make one feel bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. But I'm not going to complain. The dreams were much better than last night's ones about the insane toy-maker's lair up in the third floor of the house (you can believe I was eyeing up the trap door to the attic with more than a little suspicion all of yesterday morning). This time they involved my friendship and, er, affection, with someone who was a strange sort of compilation of Mira Furlann as Delenn and a certain one of my friends. *grins* That was really kind of nice. I guess this is what comes of watching Firefly, talking about Babylon 5, then lying down to sleep next to a gorgeous raccoon-girl.

Well, time to start the day!
