Jun. 26th, 2007 07:00 pmI have new paw covers! *bounce* Andrea told me, after the latest instance of having forgotten my Doc Martens in her car and being forced to wear my big leather work boots to work (work boots to work; shouldn't that be appropriate?) that she had to take me shoe shopping. To be fair, I think her objection wasn't to me wearing boots, or even Docs, but that I was wearing them with shorts. Apparently that's a no-no. Who knew?
She said that I needed boat shoes, which I've never heard of but they sound kind of keen! Are they waterproof? Can you walk on water with them? Do they look like little boats? Can you give them pretentious yuppy names like "Nest Egg" or "Louisa Franchesca Bobesca III"? Unfortunately, I was not to find the answers to these questions since Andrea told me that there were no boat shoes to be found at Payless or Target. (I took her word since I don't think I'd recognize a pair if it blew a fog horn at my ass.)
I have black, size thirteen, slip on, rubbery, suedey, short-in-the-ankle... things. Woo! They're relatively comfy considering I'm being forced to wear shoes at all, and they cost me all of thirty bucks. That works.
Plans for the week are coming together. Today I get to be at home, work on cleaning up a a little more, and maybe even get online and chat for a bit while working on Andrea's laptop. The computer room is clean enough that I feel pretty accomplished there, and I can keep doing laundry without having to put continuous attention into it. Oh, dropping off a SCSI RAID controller with Posi on the way home too.
Wednesday is the usual dinner with parents night (Homemade pizza! Yum!). I also have to run over to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
foreignlegion's place and drop off his computer and monitor.
Thursday is a trip to Microcenter and/or Fry's Electronics followed by a jaunt to Cici's for all you can eat pizza buffet! Pizza twice in two days! *barks frantically* It's sad how much I'm already looking forward to it, really.
Accompanying me on the trip will betybis and posicat, both of whom I'm looking rather forward to hanging out for a few hours with.
Speaking of hanging out with with Posi and Tybis, Andrea is planning to finish cleaning out the old cars this week so we can get them out of the backyard to make room for the pool. Yes, Posi and I split the cost of a 12 foot diameter inflatable pool from Big!Lots. It even has it's own powered filter! I'm thinking that I need to rent a gas powered weed-whacker or something to tame the backyard, and then set this thing up back there. That should be fun!
Future plans are coming along too. Even though Andrea and I can't get to Anthrocon due to money and/or time off issues (too much invested into our kitty, who is doing pretty well right now by the way), we're still going to have some fun. It looks like the plan is to engage in reconnaissance of our fall back location in case of zombie outbreak, bird-flu pandemic, or other such disaster. In other words, we're going camping out near Savannah, Illinois. Plans for the moment call for the two of us, the aforementioned Cici's dining companions from this Thursday, and one friendly Akita. I'm going to start looking around tonight and see about reserving a camp site somewhere dog-friendly.
And then, we have the Noah's Ark trip to look forward to in August! I'm pretty excited about that too. I've never actually been there, and I'm hoping to make a side trip or two too to do things like Wizard Quest and maybe even the Ducks (I haven't been on the ducks since I was muuuuuuuuuch younger.). This summer should be fun!
