(no subject)

I'm stuffed on fabulous pierogies and blintzes from dinner last night at the Warsaw Inn with my sweetie, Posi, and Tybis. Oh wow; cream cheese blintzes are no less than mystic foodstuffs of the gods. I can't go there very often because it's a little pricey (the prices on that link are out of date and a bit low) and I eat way too much, but oh is it gooooood.....

While I was at dinner, I got a little text message from concrete_stare to inaugurate the SMS functionality on my new phone. It's kind of neat that my first text message comes from as far away as Ireland. Thanks! That made me happy-giggly that you thought of me. I would have written more back but I'm so picky about using correct punctuation and grammar even in my text messages (you may all commence to laughing at me, but even when I used to text Andrea from my cell phone during lunch at the widget factory they were all fully spelled out words with punctuation) that it takes quite a while to type them (I wonder if I can get a Bluetooth keyboard for a cell phone) and I ran out of room! I guess you only get 160 characters. Hardly very much room at all, even for dashing off a note to a friend. Oh well.

I have to call Sprint today about how to use my phone as a modem. It feels werid to be doing that; I'm very much not used to having any technical hardware in my posession that's actually under a support contract. Heck, even if I do get something with a contract, it often doesn't take me long to void it. Which I just might do with this phone by attaching an external antenna to it at some point. I also have to ask how much international SMS messages cost because they are in their own seperate category when I look at my plan usage on the Sprint website and it looks like I don't get any free ones. *grins*

Anyway, I also have to go out at lunch to get some money from the ATM to give to a guy who's selling me a used dishwasher tonight (I love Craig's List), and to visit another place or two. Maybe I'll even get some lunch.

I'm here 'till one today both to avoid heavey lunch traffic and to man the phones since serinthia is out at lunch and our team lead is home sick and our manager is at home dealing with three feet of water in his basement. Fortunately, it seems like a lot of people are out or otherwise engaged today; things have been relatively quiet. Can't blame it all on the weather since we support offices from Vermont to North Carolina to Illinois, but hopefully whatever the reason it, it continues through the end of the day.
