(no subject)

I'm feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the house at the moment. I brought more hardware home from work, and right now I almost wish I hadn't. But I passed on a lot of stuff that I might use someday crap, including two rackmount servers that posicat took home. See? I'm getting better about this. I'm sure that he'll have much better use for them than I would.

Plus, most of what I took home I intend to send back out the door as soon as I can. I have some computers to send to renniefrog, a bunch for Posi, and I probably have a few things for the other people who expressed interest. I'll see about getting stuff sorted out this week and let you all know. I also intend to get some stuff together for Ebay and Craig's List tomorrow after work. Somehow, actually posting ads is intimidating to me and I procrastinate about doing it. But I'm going to repost my guitar (the last time I had it up, the guy who wanted it never actually came to get it) and a server (anyone want a tower style Prolant ML350 1.2Ghz machine?). I'm also going to throw some Boot-and-nuked hard drives on Ebay. I have a stack of 6 10,000 RPM, 18GB SCSI drives in HP/Compaq sleds that I think will sell.

I don't know why I'm feeling a little down right now. I guess I just feel like I'm stuck in a rut when it comes to the house and all the stuff in it. I kind of wish I could get help sorting it all out and getting rid of it, but it's really something we have to muddle through ourselves.

The weekend was a good one, and that helps me feel a little better about the time having gone by and having to go to work tomorrow. On Friday we had homemade pizza with Posi, tybis, and samiitiger. Saturday afternoon and evening, though we weren't up to driving all the way down to Lombard for the birthday party we'd been planning to go to, was still spent with mocha_mephooki; that was nice. And before that, Tybis was up to pick up a little bitty laptop from me, and my brother and a friend came over for computer help. It makes me really happy when people come to visit; thank you all for coming.

Today, Andrea and I drove down to Mitsuwa. We've been talking about going there for months, and we used today to finally go and do it. I'm glad we made it down there. Not only did we get the new set of hashi that I wanted and some instant udon noodle bowls to go with them, but I found out that there's a new bookstore there! It even seems bigger than the one that I used to buy children's books in Japanese from and I was lamenting the closure of some time last year. They have Harry Potter books in Japanese!

It makes me really happy to have a source of easy reading material again; I'm going to start trying to get through written Japanese again. Unfortunately, I tried to find my dictionary tonight and it seems to have wandered off somewhere. That's frustrating, but I'm sure it will turn up. In the meantime, I guess I have to organize more.

Gah. I don't wanna go to work tomorrow. I'm tired of the drive, and I'm tired of the stupid people. I know, I know, whine whine whine. At least most of the rest of my life is pretty good right now. Wish me motivation to get through my day tomorrow and to stop procrastinating about putting stuff up for sale so it gets out of my house. I would have done some of that tonight, but I left my laptop, which has my email program set up on it, at work this weekend. Which means I couldn't play any portal either. Bleah. Anyway, since it's Monday, maybe I'll even get on IM tomorrow evening as I write ad copy. I'm trying to be good about keeping in touch this year....
