Apr. 28th, 2008 09:12 amI ate my first ever, completely home-made, from-scratch pierogies last night! That was so cool!
moiracoon surprised Mocha and I with them once we got back. They were spinach and feta-filled pockets of fresh-made dough, fried up with caramelized onions. They were so good! And along with them, she made feta and spinach pie, with a totally awesome crust that was hard and bready and had those little holes poked in the top like a real pie! It was fantastic! (Cooking is like magic to me. I don't understand the process enough to know what's going on, so it's an unexplained mystery. I just keep thinking of the Calvin and Hobbes cartoon where Calvin is explaining toast to Hobbes. "You just put the bread in, push the lever, wait a few minutes, and toast pops out!" "Wow, where did the bread go?" "I don't know; it's a mystery!") Thank you sweetie!
I will write more about my day yesterday and post pictures later. I have at least gotten the pictures, along with those from the railroad museum, onto my picture management computer so I can post them soonish.
