May. 29th, 2008 04:40 pmWe had a meeting today about our upcoming corporate mash-up. Things are not looking too good. The company that now owns us, despite the spin that gets put on it about it being a merger, basically outsources it's help desk to India. On the plus side, I'm still being pushed to do lots of training on the company dime while I still can.
My five day CCNA boot camp is coming up in a month. I'm also going to check job postings online and see exactly what companies are looking for in an entry-level networking engineer. But I thought I'd ask here too. If I want to get started doing corporate level networking, be it configuring switches in a site, site-to-site routing configs, VPN setups, or whatever, what training do I want to be going through right now? Any thoughts? I may cross-post this to IT Professionals, if it's still around, tonight too.
Thanks!
stormgren, I have your phones all packed up. It will probably cost about $6 to ship them. I haven't packed up the switch yet, but will this week or on the weekend once I snag a big enough box from work. Err, I thought my address was in my last post, but I see now that it's not. Here you go, use this one; I just threw it up on my server so I can post something in public.
